To raise a generation where orphans and vulnerable children can be healthy, educated, spiritually grounded, and equipped with skills to live independent meaningful lives.

Owekisa project is a Christian children's ministry committed to supporting orphans and extremely vulnerable children through holistic care. We provide food , education, safe shelter, healthcare, spiritual guidance, protection, and basic skilling preparing every child for life beyond childhood and a hopeful future.

Who We Are
Our story
The Owekisa Project is a Christian children's ministry founded in 2019, rooted in faith, compassion, and the belief that no child should grow up without love and support. What began as a small effort to help needy children within our church has grown into a trusted support system for the wider community, caring for orphans and extremely vulnerable children.
Our journey is deeply personal. We come from a humble background, within an extended family that welcomed many relatives and friends under one roof. Despite limited income, our parents made sure to care, share and support others . Their guiding belief was simple but powerful.

This upbringing shaped our passion and vision. It taught us that impact is not measured by how much you have, but by the willingness to care and share. Our parents were our first support system for the children we serve today, proving that love, sacrifice, and unity can change lives even with very little.
Today, the Owekisa Project cares for about 85 children following a strong mission and vision. We reman committed to raising children with dignity, faith, and hope empowering them to become responsible independent individuals.
Owekisa is more than a project; it is a family. And with the continued support of partners, donors, and the community, we believe that together we can build a future full of hope for every child.
Foundation of Education
We provide essential resources, scholarships, and mentorship programs that ensure children in Bugiri have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty through learning.
$70 keeps a child in secondary school for a term and $32 keeps a child in primary school for a term.
Empowering Children in Bugiri Through Holistic Care
The Owekisa Project addresses the critical needs of vulnerable children through three pillars of sustainable impact anchored on love and faith.
Healthcare and Nutrition
Access to quality healthcare is a human right. Our medical initiatives provide routine check-ups, emergency care, and vaccinations for the children in our project community. Our feeding programs ensure that every child receives balanced meals daily, supporting their physical growth and cognitive ability so they can thrive in school and life.
$55 can feed 85children for a day.
Skilling
We recently introduced after school co-curricular activities aimed at equipping the children with skills to service through the extremely competitive and capitalist trends. This program will also amplify children's talents enabling them to gain technical expertise enough to set them up for a bright future. They include Tailoring, construction, hair braiding.
